Reema is a humanitarian and global health professional passionate about contributing to the well-being of individuals through education, social innovation and health. She has a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Global Health. After working with a local organization in Jordan that provided health services to Syrian refugees during the early stages of the Syrian crisis, Reema pursued a Master’s of Science in Global Health from Duke University. Once she graduated, she continued her journey working with refugees in refugee camps in Jordan with UNHCR and UNICEF as a public health associate and a youth innovation officer respectively. Over the years, Reema has held various roles with responsibilities in program and strategy design, implementation and evaluation, full-cycle project management, and multi-stakeholder coordination. She worked on various programs ranging from primary and behavioral healthcare services to youth skills development and social innovation training programs. Reema heavily contributed to the improvement of programs and emphasized efficient delivery mechanisms through team collaboration and resource mobilization. She brings her international experience in tough, low-resourced settings to the U.S. and hopes to continue her journey in contributing to the well-being of individuals. She believes in providing community-based, person-centered programs that give individuals access to adequate, and inclusive services.
