Position Description

Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor

The Clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to Maristan’s clients and students through our Muslim Mental Health Initiative (MMHI) with partnering universities. They will also be responsible for providing individual and/or group supervision to associate clinicians on a weekly basis.

 

The individual should embody the organization’s mission and vision and provide culturally and religiously congruent mental health services integrated with Islamic Psychology. They should be able to prioritize various tasks and responsibilities while working alongside fellow team and board members.

 

This position offers the opportunity to help direct the growth of a nonprofit organization and implement mental health and wellness initiatives integrated with Islamic Psychology that serve our communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Clinician will perform duties, such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide in-person or virtual individual, couples, family, and group therapy through Maristan’s clinic to clients in compliance with individual qualifications.
  • Provide in-person or virtual clinical consultations to new Maristan clients as needed.
  • Provide in-person or virtual clinical sessions and/or consultations to students through our Muslim Mental Health Initiative (MMHI) programs.
  • Offer in-person or virtual individual and/or group supervision to associate clinicians on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of clinical and client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, ethical standards, and Maristan’s clinical policies.
  • Collaborate with other Maristan clinicians and the clinical team for improved clinical outcomes for clients, the clinic, and Maristan overall.
  • Complete a wide variety of administrative tasks as required by the position, including billing, intake, progress notes, and invoicing.
  • Develop and execute client treatment plans.
  • Attend bi-weekly staff and didactic meetings virtually.
  • Attend mandatory training(s) with Maristan’s Clinical Manager and/or Clinical Coordinator for at least two weeks (up to one hour each) to become familiar with Maristan’s clinic policies, Valant EMR, and other related topics.
  • Be familiar with Islamic concepts to support providing Islamically integrated care for Maristan’s Muslim clients.
  • Be familiar with telehealth practices and have access to a private room to render virtual services.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
  • A master’s degree or doctorate in a related field, including Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology.
  • Licensed, or holding a license-eligible degree.
  • Maintain professional licensure and standing with practice regulatory bodies and ethics boards.
  • Credentials required to provide clinical supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to commit 30 clinical hours per week and up to 5 additional hours for related work, including client care, staff meetings, and supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to productively engage with others.

Position Description
Accounting Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the financial health and operations of Maristan, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Duties include analyzing financial data, advising on financial strategies, and supporting the Executive Director (ED) and Board Treasurer.


The Accounting Coordinator may handle tax-related tasks on behalf of the Executive Director and/or Treasurer when needed. For fundraising activities, they will track funds raised and ensure accurate reporting in quarterly budgets. This role also involves assisting with designing and maintaining the organizational budget and collaborating with other departments as required.


Additional responsibilities include approving expenses according to organizational guidelines, supporting the streamlining of financial processes, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and creating financial policies that strengthen internal systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Accounting Coordinator will perform duties including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Manage finances on a day-to-day basis
  • Be available to approve and release funds for expenses and invoices
  • Track incoming funds and expenditures of grants
  • Support the Executive Director in monitoring and tracking funds for contracts
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in alignment with the monthly close calendar
  • Collaborate with teams to review financial entries, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure proper recognition of restricted Zakat revenue and usage
  • Review financials to assess performance, strengths and challenges, and monitor for any budget deficits resulting from insufficient revenue or overspending
  • Support different departments in processing invoices and reimbursements
  • Process and upkeep registrations for State and Federal 501(c)(3) status
  • Assist with audits as required
  • File annual State and Federal tax returns
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Executive Director to develop and track against annual budgets
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll distribution expenses and accounting treatment
  • Manage and own banking relationships
  • Develop policies and SOPs to streamline processes regarding processing invoices, reimbursements, and expenditures
  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings
  • Support special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests from leadership and program teams as needed
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

Technical Knowledge:

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Preferred 4 years of experience in a financial role within a non-profit setting
  • Experience in Operations/HR payroll and booking payroll entries
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Gusto
